Why Are We Charging Through Life Without Awareness ?
It is probably easier than one thinks to be bogged down in our life pattern, because we all do it at sometimes or the other without realizing it. We have all started out to work and we got there without consideration about the street turns, the stop lights, the detour or the exit. We just got there! Okay, let’s be honest; how many times have you done this? I’ll just bet a few…
Our entire journey is like this sometimes also, we are inflexible about our routine and we can probably go through our day blindfolded. Well, almost. Having said that; think about it and think about your day to day pattern . Is it true, do you realize you are living in automatic? It is scary when we think about it but let’s go over the days pursuitsto see if we are not doing all of these on automatic or at least some of it.
We rise in the morning at 6 a.m.; we produce breakfast for ourselves and family (if applicable). We have either plunged into the shower the night before or before we made breakfast. We eat quickly as we must dress the children for nursery or school and have to prepare lunches and then we have to dress ourselves and make sure dad is up and dressed. We are still pushing and in a hurry to start the day, whatever day it is, because it seems like Wednesday and it is only Monday. We finally get clothed ourselves and here we are out the door with the children and off to the many stops we have at the nursery, kindergarten. We made it to work by 8:30 a. m. but the details of the morning are all very inexplicable. It just happened like it does every morning, to our own amazement. Oh, we are not finished. If we can just make it to lunch, we will be fine. We will sit down, have a glass of tea or water and renew for what is about to be the afternoon. We then have our meeting and give our business plan which we did not have time to check ; oh that’s okay, no one knows what was in it anyway. So we got past that problem, we think and it is now time to make those return calls to customers who called yesterday and are possibly thinking that the company has lost their best employee. Man, now it is almost 5 p. m. and we shoot out the door; oh, that’s right the other spouse is picking the children up so that you can go by the grocery store and pick up food for dinner.
I think we know what went on the remainder of the day and we get up the next morning and repeat the same actions again. Now, tell me if you live each minute in consciousness of each task or if you were actually in a trance doing what you are formulated to do.
Is this good for anyone? I don’t know how we live as long as we do actually. I do think age has something to do with this. When we are young we have more energy and seem to get it all done but that still does not mean that we are actually living our life the way it should be live. It is discernible that we need to slow down and take note of what we are doing. As we age, we become more aware that we need to live more in the instance and make sure we aren’t missing something. As we age we realize we do not have as many tomorrows as we once did, if we have any at all.
When we live like this; we aren’t even using our full brain authority. I believe it would suite us well to stop and think about what we are doing. We might have to take some time to reform and take a vacation out of habitual living into a fully conscious status. Then and only then will we be truly living.
